America First

I find it interesting that Trump is imposing tariffs to bring business back to the United States while sending his two sons and his son-in-law to places like Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Trump’s boys are on a whirlwind tour of foreign lands with paid speaking engagements and are pursuing deals for hotels and golf courses. Trump’s eldest son is also set to travel to Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Czechia and Slovakia, heading a roadshow titled ‘Trump Business Vision 2025’. He just finished a speaking engagement in Hungary.
Add to that, their work with World Liberty Financial based in the UK that promotes the family cryptocurrency, and you have a massive potential for conflicts of interest. World leaders, foreign businesses, and foreign governments can now “invest” in holdings or projects that benefit the president. Trump says there is no conflict because his boys are managing his businesses in a blind trust.
I guess there are no hotels or golf courses that need to be built in America. It is certainly true that future US construction, where imported materials and equipment may have doubled in cost due to the tariffs, might be a factor. Permits and licensing in these foreign lands is near immediate for the president's boys who would find those same things more difficult and time consuming in the US even with influence. Add to that, the increased labor costs because cheap immigrant labor will be hard to find. If you build in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or the UAE, the “immigrants” are already there to provide that cheap labor. Yes, I can see where doing business overseas might be financially expedient. No nasty tariffs either.
For a guy who wanted to ban all Muslims from America, wanting to now do business with them is “mighty Christian” of you.
