Frustrated by losses and delays in their diabolical plots from that pesky guardian of our freedoms and rights, the Judicial Branch of our government, Stephen Miller is toying with the suspension of habeas corpus. Yes, the man behind the curtain has reared his ugly head and has declared his frustration with the federal courts.
In their haste to bend the country to their will without the yoke of a legal system, they have already declared that we are “at war” so due process is what they say it is. This ludicrous performative hyperbole is being used to step up their racist deportation of anyone they deem an aggravation of their mission. Calling the removal of a class of people seeking work and/or asylum from persecution an invasion equivalent to a D-Day assault, seems fitting for two individuals who never wore a uniform.
Just as Trump’s ancestors left their homeland to escape military conscription, Miller’s ancestors fled the Russian Empire’s anti-Jewish pogroms and persecution. Escaping war and persecution was good for their ancestors but, now that they are free, the idea of paying it forward is foreign to them.
Postscript: Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill would make this discussion moot as it would exempt him from any actions from the court system. He could ignore all such activity as if they didn’t exist.
