I HAVE A QUESTION

I would like the MAGA faithful to answer just one question. Since your “fearless?” leader refuses to provide a straight answer to any questions of substance and has apparently instructed his staff and cabinet to do the same, perhaps you might be able to handle just one. It would be appreciated if you took this seriously and didn’t obfuscate, dodge, tap dance, distract, change the topic, or attack the questioner. The question is simple, can you please explain the word irony?

In your response your definition needs to be fully explained beyond what I can find in any dictionary. In fact, I will start you off with that definition. Irony is a noun referring to the use of language in which the intended meaning is opposite to the literal meaning, often employed for humorous or emphatic effect. In simplest terms, irony occurs in literature AND in life whenever a person says something or does something that departs from what they (or we) expect them to say or do.

Your response needs to be relevant to MAGA World and its leader where you provide pertinent examples to facilitate your explanation. To help you in this endeavor, I will provide you with a few observations and you just need to explain the irony.

First, your leader has said of government shutdowns, “I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top.” In April of 2011 he also said a shutdown would be a, "tremendously negative mark on the president." Donald Trump was president during the most significant (35-day) shutdown in 2018 and is currently in the middle of another one. Now he places all blame on the opposition party. Explain the irony.

Within the MAGA faithful, Donald Trump has become an icon of religious piety, and, among groups of evangelicals, he is viewed as a Messiah and new leader of their faith. Others in MAGA World, both religious and indifferent, have expressed outrage over pedophilia, going so far to falsely blame Democrats during the 2016 presidential primaries for running a human-trafficking and child sex ring out of a pizzeria in Washington, D.C.

While that was all debunked as a hoax, it has since been revealed that citizen Donald Trump partied and travelled with the most infamous child sex trafficker in recent memory, Jeffery Epstein. Another friend of Mr. Trump, Alex Acosta, then allowed this pedophile to escape justice and continue his activities after he was tried and convicted. Mr. Acosta was later rewarded by President Trump with a cabinet position.

Then, this same President Trump seemed threatened by information contained in what are called, “The Epstein Files.” These should not be confused with "The X-Files" that dealt with paranormal activity. The Epstein Files only deal with abnormal sexual activity and certain important abnormal participants. Except for the fact that Donald Trump’s name appears numerous times in these files, not much else is known and they have now become the most secret of all our nation’s secrets. In addition to their Top Secret classification, the Epstein Files may only be seen or discussed within The Cone of Silence.

There are unsubstantiated rumors that the Epstein Files have been moved to Groom Lake’s Area 51 in Southern Nevada and are now kept between a frozen Martian and the Ark of the Covenant. Whenever asked about "The Files," the president blows up another boat off the coast of Venezuela, has Dr.RFK Jr. issue a press release of his latest medical findings, or otherwise tells us to look at something other than the Epstein Files.

Donald Trump also seems threatened by the potential revelations of convicted Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, so he intervened in her behalf and got her moved to a nicer minimum-security prison where work-release may be in her future. He has also hinted at a full presidential pardon for this convicted pedophile. President/Messiah Trump seems to hold some unexplained fondness for the pedophile Ghislaine Maxwell. Explain the irony.

Donald Trump, head of the MAGA Party, has been vociferous about his qualifications for a Nobel Peace Prize. According to Alfred Nobel’s will, this prize is awarded to individuals or organizations who have made the "most or best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies, and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses." Most recently, the MAGA leader has declared war on his own country and its citizens and has sent armed troops into major Democratic (opposition) cities to arrest his enemies. Explain the irony.

These are but three examples that could be used to respond to my original request to explain irony through the use of examples using the reasoning of the MAGA faithful. If you would like, you can get extra credit for using the same examples above to explain the term, hypocrisy.
