Mystery Solved

When trying to solve a mystery, you need to look at the facts, analyze the evidence, evaluate motives, observe behavior, and hopefully reach a conclusion. In the case of Jeffery Epstein, the facts, evidence, and testimony against him were overwhelming, both times he was caught and prosecuted. When it came to Ghislaine Maxwell the case was likewise provable in court, and she was sentenced accordingly. Both were guilty of procuring the services of underage girls to be abused by adults. There were pictures, videos, witness statements, investigations of previous cases, etc., to prove that these two individuals committed these crimes. However, they were not alone.

Implicated in these horrific crimes were Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump among other notables. Of these individuals, who have not yet been charged with any Epstein related crimes, only one has taken observable steps to head off any further investigation. Trump’s blatant interference in the matter serves no purpose other than to insulate him against further implication. It doesn’t help his case that literally dozens of women (only one underage) have previously accused him legally with rape or sexual misconduct. His innocence is further brought into question because he has bragged about being able to do such things because he is a celebrity. The fact that he was married during most of these sexual crimes doesn’t seem to bother anyone, least of all the person who should be most embarrassed. For him they are praiseworthy conquests and mere legal “entanglements” to have his lawyers crush.
We can question all we want the idea that Jeffery Epstein took his own life and that the video evidence from his cell area has several mysterious missing minutes, but like the whereabouts of Jimmy Hoffa, the “lone gunman” theory in the assassination of JFK, the identity of Jack the Ripper, and the fate of the Mary Celeste, we will probably never know the entire truth. With that said, there are certainly plausible explanations. I don’t think anyone believes that Jimmy Hoffa is living on a beach in Bora Bora. Buried there perhaps, but not living.
The question being asked, even by a growing number of Trump supporters, is whether he had sex with underage girls with the help of Mr. Epstein. It seems that Trump fans draw the line at pedophilia. The only thing worse for them would be Pedrophilia. Even though Epstein, the ringleader, is out of the picture under mysterious circumstances, we still have other witnesses and evidence. The fact that Donald Trump is under suspicion in the Epstein case, has kept secret all the evidence, and was directly involved in having Ms. Maxwell moved to a minimum-security prison where she may be eligible for day passes as a convicted sex offender, is highly suspicious.
The man never, I mean never, does anything that is not in his own best interest. Moving Ms. Maxwell makes him really look guilty and it serves him only if her testimony could hurt him. This move was the lesser of two evils. Having another suicide that occurred under suspicious circumstances would be a bridge too far.
Actually, there already was another suicide in this case with a Trump tie-in. It was the suicide of Virginia Giuffre, a minor, in 2009. She had been an employee of Donald Trump who worked at Mar-a-Lago when she was “poached” by Ms. Maxwell to be the personal masseuse to Jeffery Epstein. Trump was so hurt by the loss of the young Giuffre that he has used that incident to time stamp his falling out with Epstein. Originally Trump denied even knowing the young Giuffre, but now she is important so that he can provide evidence of a break with the convicted pedophile. Now he conveniently remembers her.
We rightfully can’t prosecute “guilt by association” but we can use it as circumstantial evidence. In legal proceedings, evidence of a person's associations can be presented as circumstantial evidence when combined with other facts and evidence to build a case.
However, the prosecution must still present enough evidence to prove the defendant's involvement in the crime beyond a reasonable doubt to secure a conviction. Mr. Trump’s well-publicized association with Epstein and Maxwell is not, by itself, anything more than circumstantial evidence. While the bar is lower in the court of public opinion, a legal court needs more evidence for a conviction. Politicians have been toppled by less than we have already seen in this matter. However, Donald Trump is politically, as they said in the Wizard of Oz, a horse of a different color.
Postscript: In addition to victims in this case, it would be good to have Alex Acosta testify under oath about his involvement in the “sweetheart deal of the century” for Epstein in 2008. That was when the child sex abuser served only 13 months on two minor prostitution charges but not on the charges listed in the 53-page indictment. Under that sweetheart deal, Epstein could leave prison during the day. Acosta was later hired (rewarded?) by Trump during his first term in office. It almost makes one wonder why Epstein would take his own life given that he had previously gotten the same sweetheart deal as Ms. Maxwell in his original case and he still knew things that could hurt powerful people.
