Politics or Humanity?

I have seen heartfelt postings of sadness and outrage over the shooting death of Charlie Kirk. I concur with their sentiments and decry the ongoing political violence. These postings express sadness for the loss of another American to gun violence and sympathy for his wife and children. One post I read claimed that they didn’t engage in political posts but felt compelled to share their thoughts and feelings because this dealt with “humanity—not politics.”

I have but one question for this writer. What did you write on June 14, 2025? If this is about humanity and not politics, where was your outrage on the day of the assassinations of Melissa Anne Hortman and her husband, Mark? Melissa Hortman was the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives. She too was a religious person. She taught Sunday school. Just like Charlie Kirk, she had two children. Unlike Charlie's spouse greiving his loss, Melissa's husband couldn't do this as he was also killed. If this is really about humanity and not politics, what outrage did you express on that date three months ago?
I went to the writer's FB page and there were no posts on or around June 14, 2025, that expressed any outrage over that horrific event. Melissa Hortman was a Democrat and Mr. Kirk was a Republican. Why are the Capitol flags lowered to half-mast for Charlie Kirk when they weren't for Melissa Hortman? Could this be about politics afterall?
