Who is this “Founder of Antifa”?

In a bizarre turn of events, Kristi Noem recently bragged that her operatives had arrested the “girlfriend” of one of the “founders of antifa.” Such a statement would infer that Noem knew the organizational structure of antifa, had identified a “founder” and now has her sights on using this person to get more information.
Given that all other “terrorist organizations” have leaders and structure, it seems logical that if antifa is such an organized group, we would identify their leaders, publish their pictures, and work to bring these people to justice. We have done this for all other such terrorist groups, so why not the most hated group in the Republican playbook? Could it be that antifa is not organized and has no formal structure? Could antifa be just an noun which happens to be a point of view held by some who object to fascism?

Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology defined by a dictatorial leader, aggressive militarism, and the forcible suppression of opposition. It emphasizes the supremacy of the nation or race over the individual, who is expected to serve the interests of the state. Those who oppose such an idea could be called anti-fascists or antifa for short. Those who object to the existence of anti-fascism are called MAGA supporters or Trump cult members.
Antifa is an idea or collection of thoughts where those who object to the idea of fascism might be so described. In the Oxford dictionary, antifa is defined as, “a political protest movement comprising autonomous groups affiliated by their militant opposition to fascism.” It is a broad term to describe a group of people whose political beliefs lean far left, but do not conform with the Democratic Party platform. The key word in the definition of antifa is that it is “autonomous,” hence it has no unified organizational structure, no budget, no membership list, no offices or headquarters, no staffers, no chain of command, and no hierarchy for prosecutors to pursue.
This understanding of Antifa would then make Ms. Noem’s statement puzzling. Just a reminder, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made the comments, “One of the individuals we arrested recently in Portland was the girlfriend of one of the founders of antifa, and we’re hoping as we go after her and prosecute her, we’ll get more and more information about the network.” In this statement Ms. Noem both says that this “girlfriend” was arrested and that she is “hoping to go after her.” If you arrested this person, why do you have to look for her? Such confused statements have made-up lie written all over them.
Ms. Noem attended a round table White House meeting about antifa. At this meeting she accused four Democratic officials — Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Portland Mayor Keith Wilson and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson — of “covering up” terrorism. It is her contention that people don’t know of all the acts of terrorism committed by this “group” because these mayors and governors were in league with the criminals and somehow covering up their misdeeds. Of course, she gave no proof and provided no examples, only that we don’t know what is going on because it is being hidden.
I would agree with government authorities who go after and prosecute any group who resorts to violence in this country to make a political point. I don’t agree that the government should play that same role where they resort to violence in an effort to locate these people. In this regard, disturbing comments were made by Attorney General Pam Bondi who threatened to, “take the same approach” with antifa as the government was taking with drug cartels. Given the recent use of deadly military strikes on civilian boats in international waters which are vaguely justified because they are combatants in a formal “armed conflict,” such a statement is unsettling.
I look forward to the publication of the organizational chart of antifa. It is too bad the rest of America can’t do what all nine tribes in South Dakota did. In 2024 Kristi Noem was banned from setting foot on any Indian lands in her home state meaning she could not visit 20% of South Dakota. They did this when she, without evidence, accused them of working with drug cartels and that tribal leaders were profiting from the association. Noem later apologized for the “misunderstanding.” It seems Ms. Noem is often misunderstood. It’s almost like the other “K” girl, Karoline Leavitt, the Trump press secretary, telling us that Trump got “one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world” to commit to lowering drug prices up to 300%. She studied politics and communication in school, not math.
Why are there so many incompetent people appointed to such lofty positions in the White House? I know, it is a sinister plot being perpetrated on the American public by antifa.
